In the Paris area...

  • The Carrefour Numérique of the media library at the "Cité des sciences et de l'industrie" in Paris has a very useful catalogue of materials, especially in the areas of basic subjects and computer skills.
  • Some municipal libraries in Paris (the list is subject to change) provide self-learning areas and allow users to borrow language kits and educational software.
  • The Cyberlab and Déclic of the media library in Melun organise workshops on digital creation and on new technologies for beginners, and provide a self-learning area.
  • The Jacques-Baumel media library in Rueil-Malmaison has a language laboratory with 3 places.
  • The media library in Issy-les-Moulineaux has some work-stations equipped for language self-learning, and also offers paid training courses given by trainers.
  • The media library in Vincennes organises courses for beginners in computer skills, office automation, Internet and multimedia education.

...and in the provinces

  • The media library of the Champs Libres in Rennes makes available a large collection of self-learning tools on the spot and on-line.
  • The Mériadeck Library in Bordeaux has a self-learning area devoted to digital learning resources.
  • The "L'@telier" of the media library in Lorient offers self-learning resources and organises sessions to initiate users in the use of Internet, as well as workshops on multimedia creation.
  • The José Cabanis Library in Toulouse has just opened a multimedia self-learning area with a very wide range of tools and a moderator to help you.
  • The André Malraux media library in Béziers at the end of October 2008 has opened a language laboratory with 6 places, to enable users to start to learn, or to improve their knowledge of, a very wide range of foreign languages.
  • The Lucien Herr media library in Saint Jacques de la Lande (near Rennes) has in its area for adults a self-learning collection in multiple formats.
