Bpi and You

You are passionately interested in a particular subject (history, society, literature, science, philosophy...)? The Bpi offers you a collection of spoken documents to develop your knowledge of a topic or a person, or to allow you to discover new fields of interest. Whether they are published recordings or recordings of events organised by the Bpi, a vast selection of subjects and authors of quality is available in the Music and Spoken Documents Area, or directly on-line (see below).

On Internet, on the Bpi's Sound Archives site, you can listen to most of the spoken events organised recently by the Bpi. Older recordings will also be made available, as they are digitalised and when the speakers have agreed to their publication.
You can look for a specific event by date, speaker, title or topic; you can also access the latest events that have been put on-line, and subscribe to our podcast.
In the Music and Spoken Documents area, you can listen to these recording on the work-stations, after reserving a station at the Information desk.
There are hundreds of interviews with authors, artists, politicians... such as Jacques Chancel's programme, Radioscopie. You can also listen to Abbé Pierre or Jean Paul II, discover the speeches of Léon Blum, or hear Simone Veil or Pierre-Gilles de Gennes talking about their lives, and Deleuze or Foucault giving a lecture.
At the Bpi, you can listen to more than 1,000 texts read in French, but also in English, German or Spanish. This collection enables you to discover or rediscover numerous authors in a way that is lively and sometimes even moving.
