In order to respond more efficiently to questions like these, in 2007 the general documentation about a country or a geographical region has been collected together on Level 2 of the Library, at the beginning of the Social Sciences sector.
The main content of this collection deals with the current political and socio-economic situation of the countries: statistical data, yearbooks, bibliographies, encyclopaedia, pluridisciplinary works in which different points of view (political, cultural, social) are presented. This documentation consists of printed documents, such as the "l'Etat du monde" or "Hommes et sociétés" collections, of periodicals, and of electronic resources, such as "The World Factbook", "Europa World plus", or the "Country Reports".
This collection, which in the process of being built up, will ultimately contain around 2,000 titles.
