Discover the Bpi
The Bpi needs to be in touch with contemporary developments of all kinds.
Therefore the Library seeks to integrate rapidly into its Collections not only evolutions of thought and knowledge, but also scientific and technological advances, modern creativity, and new cultural and social movements.
The documentation that the Library provides is constantly updated through a high acquisition rate: around 20,000 new titles are purchased each year, and 12% of the total stock has been published in the last 3 years.
Since the space available to house the Collections is limited, each year as many works are removed (we call it the "weeding" process) as are added.
The catalogues of current exhibitions - in Paris or in the Ile-de-France region - are made available as quickly as possible. They are collected under the code AR BUR EXP.
Sarkis in 2006, by Nwardez (Wikipedia Commons)
In the framework of the Sarkis "Passages" exhibition/lecture in the Pompidou Centre area, the Bpi is presenting a work of the artist entitled "Au commencement 1938" at the entrance to Level 2. Near the painting, there is a selection of books, a press-book and a bibliography about the artist.
