Discover the Bpi
It may be a very common, even banal, aspect of modern life but the use of a public library has rarely been the subject of a film. The Bpi, therefore, is particularly proud to have a 30-minute long documentary film made by Jean-Michel Cretin in the autumn of 1997, a few days before the Library was closed for two years of renovation work. You can see how the Library was before its different areas were rearranged; above all, you can hear some of its most regular users saying in warm and spontaneous ways how much they appreciate the services that the Library provides.
These images complement a survey (in the form of interviews) conducted at the same time by the Bpi Studies and Research Department, which was published in 2001 under the title "Les habitués : le microcosme d’une grande bibliothèque" (in French) as a Bpi publication.
