In 2008, the Bpi employed 257 persons, being the equivalent of 240 full-time posts.

  • This number of staff does not change much from year to year.  The posts are divided between professions (curator, library assistant, storekeeper, etc.) within four branches: administrative, scientific (library staff), surveillance (storekeepers), worker and technical.

Kinds of job at the Bpi

The Bpi is a national library, with the status of a State administration. Consequently most of its staff are civil servants but it also employs contract workers (mainly for administrative and technical posts), as well as temporary staff to reinforce the services that receive the public and put materials back in their places.
