Welcome the public, and assistance with document searches.
Welcome, inform and guide Library users in their document searches, using multimedia-based computer tools, and re-shelve documents.
- student status
- an educational level of Bac + 4 (validated)
- be very available.
- very good general knowledge – diplomas in diverse disciplines or encyclopaedic knowledge will be welcomed,
- familiarity with computerised document search tools and multimedia equipment (studies or a diploma as well as work experience, even short-term, in the library or documentation sector will be appreciated but not required),
- knowledge of the Bpi (its areas, collections, classification system, and document search tools…) or of the functioning of other libraries,
- an interest in the Pompidou Centre and its activities,
- an interest in current affairs and in cultural and social activities.
- relational skills (politeness, ability to listen, diplomacy…),
- sense of teamwork,
- having an open mind and intellectual curiosity,
- ability to analyse and summarise (when replying to the requests of the public),
- an understanding of English or another language will be appreciated,
- punctuality,
- adaptability.
You must be available:
3 days a week between 12:00 and 22:00 (except Tuesdays)
+ 1 weekend out of 2 between 11:00 and 22:00
On weekdays (times spread over 3 days):
- 2 fixed slots lasting from 3 to 7 hours
- 1 variable slot (when needed) lasting from 3 to 7 hours
(the variable slots are decided by the Bpi with a maximum of 15 days notice)
On weekends (1 out of 2) and public holidays (when needed):
- 1 fixed shift lasting from 4 to 5 1/2 hours on the Saturday
- 1 fixed shift lasting from 4 to 5 1/2 hours on the Sunday
- total hours per month: 60 fixed hours (on average) + 15 mobile hours (total of 75 hours maximum)
- length of contract: 6 months.
Hourly rate gross: 10,56 € (including paid holidays).
Hourly rate gross on Sundays and public holidays: 13,73 € (including paid holidays).
Every application must include the four following elements:

All candidates will receive a message confirming that their application has been received. Certain candidates, selected on the basis of their applications, will be invited to a job interview.
