In the framework of its national role, the Bpi undertakes various activities in co-operation both with French public libraries and with foreign libraries.

These activities cover different fields: the enrichment of collections, with a special emphasis on new information formats; the development of new services, with a view to enabling the library to reach a wider public and to strengthen its role in the city; the range of cultural events that it organises.

The Bpi also provides training in its areas of competence and contributes to exchanges and discussions between libraries and information professionals, through its participation in different networks and organisations. In its co-operation activities, it is particularly active in the area of the reception of disabled users and of services designed to meet their needs.

These activities, which involve different Bpi departments, are co-ordinated by the Co-operation & International Relations Department.
