In recent years, the Bpi has formalised its policies in various areas of its work. For the Bpi, these Charters constitute framework texts and sets of professional guidelines. They demonstrate our commitments towards our users and make it possible for library workers to share experience.

  • The Documentation Policy Charter (PDF file; in French) was reviewed and updated in 2008. It includes a general text describing the principles of the documentation policy, an evaluation of the development of the collections in the 2005-2008 period, and the main areas of their development in the 2008-2010 period. It also contains a description of the collections in each field.
  • The Cultural Action Charter (PDF file; in French), elaborated in 2008, presents the missions that are the basis of this activity and its main areas of action.
  • The Marianne Charter (PDF file; in French) is part of a national initiative to improve the ways in which the clients of public services are received.
  • The Charter on the Use of Internet (aimed at users; PDF file; in French) sets out the general legal framework concerning Internet and the modalities for consulting on-line services.
