Training
The Bpi is involved in the training of library staff in a variety of ways:
- It receives trainees and organises group visits.
- It organises or co-organises study days and seminars, or participates in them, in France and abroad.
- It provides a section aimed at library workers on its website.
- It participates in research and undertakes surveys that contribute to the development of the knowledge of concerned professions about books, reading and the evolving use of libraries.
- It produces publications: either on-line, or published by the 'Editions de la Bibliothèque publique d'information', that cover topics such as library science, the sociology of culture, languages, or seminar reports.
