Since 1996, the Bpi, an encyclopaedic library of reference and current developments that by definition seeks to be a resource centre, has developed a partnership with the Ministry of Foreign and European Affaires (MAEE).

In the framework of this partnership, the Bpi's Co-operation and International Relations Department:

  • participates in the establishment of the "Contemporary France Collection" bibliographical database that is designed to facilitate the cataloguing of French materials collected by the staff of Media Libraries and Information Centres about France,
  • organises training courses for librarians working in Media Libraries and Information Centres about France,
  • conducts expert missions in foreign countries,
  • proposes, on its website, a selection of markers concerning the France of today.

Modalities
Applications to participate in the training courses for librarians working in Media Libraries and Information Centres about France are made through official channels and must be sent to the MAEE's Office for Media Libraries and Information Centres.
