The Bpi is a national public reading library located in the heart of the Centre Pompidou. Due to its temporary closure for renovation work, the Bpi has been relocated to the Lumière building, covering 8,900 m2, before returning to its enlarged premises at the Centre Pompidou in 2030.

Its main missions are to offer everyone, with free access, an up-to-date choice of French and foreign collections of topical documents, to set up a documentary research center in liaison with other centres, libraries and cultural establishments and to participate in the cultural activities of the Center Pompidou.

Its offer is made up of 320,000 books, newspapers, films, music, electronic resources, self-training methods, etc.

The Bpi is open 313 days a year and welcomes an average of 4500 visitors per day.

Creator and organizer of cultural actions, the library develops many events, conferences, symposiums, festivals and exhibitions, offers cinema sessions, animations, workshops, mediations.

Strengthened by its diversity, its image and its national and international influence, the Bpi has developed numerous partnerships and collaborations.

Becoming a partner of the Bibliothèque publique d’information means strengthening its image, benefiting from strong visibility, increasing its notoriety, being a player in a dynamic or project leader in the service of access to culture for all.
