Social worker
Visits to the Bpi and presentations of its services for social workers are organized on a regular basis.
As a member of the Mission Vivre Ensemble, which brings together some thirty cultural establishments, the Bpi has been working for several years with social workers and the general public to offer them collections and services that best meet their needs.

Tour the library
The library organises tours free of charge for your groups all year, on booking, suited to the needs of everyone: general tours or focussing on a space (Independent Learning, Everyday Life, Press…), themed pathways (men/women equality, health, art and committed artists…

Cultural mediations
The Bpi offers adapted mediations to make people discover the major events of its cultural programming.
Visits to exhibitions, drawing, writing or artistic expression workshops, meeting with an author, digital workshops and video games…

Refugees and migrants
The Bpi unconditionally welcomes migrants who can, among other things, learn French, find out about the procedures for accessing health care, or even find attentive listening within the duty periods and workshops.

Precarious students
Students represent more than two thirds of the public at the Bpi. Some services may be of particular interest to those who are experiencing financial difficulties or who feel isolated.

People in very precarious situations
At the Bpi, homeless or precarious people can meet partner associations that listen to them, inform them and guide them. It is also possible to consult the Internet, watch television, recharge a mobile phone.

People struggling with digital
The Bpi accompanies its users deprived of digital technology towards the use of these tools during individual sessions or collective workshops.

People looking for a job
In partnership with the Cité des Métiers, the Bpi offers a set of workshops promoting the resumption of professional activity :
The Self-training service also provides access to methods for training in CV writing and job search, or for learning and reviewing basic knowledge.
And of course, many documents are available in the Employment, training, orientation space, at level 3 of the Bpi.

People in prison
- Books donations
The documents removed from the collections and in good condition are donated to the penitentiary centers within the framework of a partnership with the management of the penitentiary administration.
- Mediations
On the other hand, mediations on the collections of the Bpi and in connection with the cultural program take place within the prisons of Ile-de-France.
