The Bpi documentary charter
The Bpi takes particular care in drawing up and updating its document charter, which evolves with the library and its projects, and sets out the main principles for building up and renewing collections on all media.
The Bpi’s documentary charter (in french) was updated in 2020. It constitutes the reference text for the documentary policy of the collections. It describes the missions of the library, the characteristics of its audiences and its documentary environment as well as its main documentary orientations.
It applies to all documents present in the library: printed works, magazines and newspapers, paid or selected electronic resources on the web, films, audiovisual documents or self-training tutorials, video games.
The development of the documentary policy will be based on two main axes: the reinforcement of the news component in our collections and the continuation of the diversification of the offer towards a wider audience.
