Workshops
The Bpi regularly offers workshops for learning and creating in various areas such as foreign languages, jobseeking, careers, digital technology, computer technology or everyday life.

Different types of workshop
- Conversation workshops in French as a Foreign Language (FLE), Spanish, English, Brazilian Portuguese
- Employment and Career Workshops
- Digital workshops
Other workshops are also offered throughout the year, in line with events, meetings, conferences or debates organised at the library. Visitors can look at the agenda regularly to keep up to date with what’s on!
In Balises, the Bpi webmagazine, you can find certain creations from past workshops.
Conversation workshops in French as a Foreign Language (FLE), Spanish, English, Portuguese
To practice their foreign language skills, Bpi users can take part in conversation workshops. The Independent Learning space offers free conversation workshops, lasting 1hr15. Please be aware that these conversation workshops are led by librarians form the Bpi and are not language classes; they are not for true beginners but for those who already have a certain grasp of language basics.
Employment and Career Workshops
The Bpi is an associate centre of the Cité des métiers (profession orientation structure), and offers workshops to help you develop your professional career. Are you looking to go back to studying, change profession, start a company or gain more confidence to find a job? Take your professional future in hand!
These workshops are led by professional partners of the Cité des métiers and allow you to find out more about: alternative forms of activity, working through an umbrella company, the DAEU (university study access diploma), recognition of prior learning, theatre or writing techniques to regain self-confidence, debating techniques for jobseeking or communicating with a company, cosearching (jobseeking with others in an informal place).
Register online free of charge by selecting the date on the page of each workshop.
In partnership with the CIDJ (Centre d’Information et de Documentation Jeunesse – Information and documentation centre for young people), the Bpi also proposes themed workshops to answer questions about jobseeking.
Digital workshops
To learn more about using a computer, or how to use new technologies, workshops are organised and led by two librarians. These workshops, lasting 1hr30, take place in the library in a room with a computer available for each participant. Check the agenda regularly to know when the next digital workshops are being organised.
